HERC: Metro New York & Southern Connecticut Director of Residence Life in Bronx, New York

The Director of Residence Life is responsible for the educational leadership, direction, budget management, supervision, and overall operation of a 2,000-student residence life program. This role includes supervision of professional staff, resident assistants, and liaises with facilities and housekeeping staff. The role also includes serving as Campus Assessment, Resource, and Education (CARE) Team representative, oversight overall operations, oversight of student conduct in the residence halls, and management of the residential dining program. The Director will play a vital role in shaping the residential experience for students The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service or hospitality background and will be able to manage the operations of multiple residence halls. The Director will need to pay close attention to occupancy projections, budgeting, and develop creative partnerships to further revitalize and increase the size of the residential communities. The position involves living on campus. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversight of all functions of four recently updated residence halls, including move in and move out operations.

Ensure that accurate data on residence is updated on all College systems to ensure accurate billing and census reports.

Management of communication plans to residential students.

Oversight of student conduct in the residence halls

Budget management and control.

Supervision of professional staff, including assistant directors and area coordinators

Liaison with contract housekeeping and physical plant staff

Management of residential dining and collaboration with dining vendors

Interaction, customer service, and problem-solving with students, parents, and colleagues

Participation in campus-wide committees and other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters required, preferably in hospitality, hotel management, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in residence life or hotel management with progressive responsibilities including program development, occupancy management, and supervision

Experience in the areas of staff training and development, crisis response, crisis intervention, student conduct, residential curriculum, budget management, and facilities planning

Knowledge of relevant technology required, including Banner, StarRez, Google Suite, and Maxient preferred

Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal law, including Title IX and the Americans with Disabilities Act

Salary: $95k-$125k Annually
