National Grid is hiring a Senior Engineer, Gas Planning and Design Engineering for our NY Gas Distribution Engineering department in Brightwaters, NY.

Job Purpose
Responsible for the engineering, design and technical oversight during construction of projects relating to the gas distribution network.
Key Accountabilities
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Design gas main replacement projects using AutoCAD
Prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints
Effectively communicate project information with involved internal and external stakeholders Interpret and incorporate corporate process safety procedures
Identify and specify materials to be used in association with gas construction projects
Identify and acquire the necessary permits, licenses, and land rights associated with the project Negotiate and manage commercial contracts with third parties and suppliers
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Able to provide oversight and advice to more junior team members and support them in delivering their accountabilities and training.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university required Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam with Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
6+ years of engineering or project management experience required Valid driver's license required

Salary - $126,000 - $148,000
