Rogers is seeking an Engagement Manager to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and development teams within the IT organization. Reporting to the Director IT Intake and Benefit Realization at the Rogers Brampton Campus, this individual will be expected to act as the demand intake prime for various business portfolios. They will help define the IT funnel of work by maintaining the Business and IT roadmaps and advising business partners on how best to leverage IT capabilities. Their close alignment to their business partners will aid in identifying opportunities to grow the business through an innovative and effective use of technology.

Accountabilities:

  • Proactively engage business partners to jointly develop and maintain business and technology roadmaps and communicate funding and approval status, facilitate prioritization conversations and actions to mitigate constraints and issues.

  • Liaise between delivery teams, infrastructure, project management, subject matter experts, end users, executives and engagement management teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects.

  • Lead proposed technology decisions during conceptual phases and represent business partner’s requirements from project concept to initiation.

  • Conduct t-shirt sizing and high-Level Assessment (HLA) of IT impacted projects either independently or in conjunction with the architecture team. Coordinate with technology teams to confirm the impact.

  • Complete the assessment within the established SLAs and ensure status is correctly captured in JIRA and other tools

  • Help prepare capital approval and SteerCo decks by collaborating with the business and taking ownership of the IT costing breakdowns and impacts.

  • Create initial forecast & Project Setup Form (when needed) to ensure funding is available for projects

  • Communicates with project managers, application developers, subject matter experts, end users and Rogers' executives.

  • Identifies and highlights problem areas, gaps or conflicts derived from information gathered and proposes options for resolution, ensuring proposed system development or business process solutions.

  • Ensures projects align with the business and ITS strategies, contributing to the development of plans and processes in supported organizations and business unit level.

  • Manage new ideas/initiatives funnel by collaborating with business partners and development teams, identifying opportunities to grow the business through an innovative and effective use of technology and by evaluating technologies via hands-on testing/demos and RFPs.

  • Coordinate team efforts to resolve complex issues and conflicts and know when to escalate to appropriate level(s).

  • Identifies and highlights problem areas, gaps or conflicts derived from information gathered and proposes options for resolution.

  • Understands and supports industry trends and contributes to the development of best practices for the clients business and for areas of domain expertise.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5 - 10 years of Business Analysis experience required.

  • Experience with various Rogers’ lines of business (wireless, cable, internet video etc...) and applications’ supporting them is preferred.

  • Demonstrates experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall and Agile).

  • Excellent analytic, interpersonal and communication skills to influence and engage colleagues, along with a broad understanding of the businesses they support.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Must be creative, detail oriented and capable of balancing the “big picture” with meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization.

  • 5-10 years of demonstrated expertise in customer experience, and advanced knowledge of IT and business processes.

  • 5-10 years of experience with system development tools and techniques, application planning and strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to lead without authority on various levels and manage difficult conversations with both Business and IT stakeholders

  • Prefer experience working with residential, internet and video technologies.

  • Working level knowledge of network technologies and solutions.
