What You Will Achieve

Working with Pfizer's dynamic engineering team, you will play a critical part in supporting maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment for the North Creek Manufacturing Facility.

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you are recognized as a subject matter expert within one or more fields with specialized knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment.

You will be entrusted to make critical decisions on behalf of the engineering team to advance our work and provide best-in-class service to our customers.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Performing installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing and documentation/logs of process and utility equipment.

  • Specific plant systems include: steam, chilled water, compressed air, heating hot water, HVAC systems, and electrical systems (emergency power, uninterruptible power).

  • Specific manufacturing and lab utility systems include: clean steam, water for injection (WFI), purified water (PW), process cooling water, clean compressed air, process gases, cryogenic liquids, process waste, walk-in cold rooms, freezers, refrigerators, and other environmental controlled units (chambers), autoclaves, and washers.

  • Maintenance activities include inspections, testing, minor/major equipment overhauls, pump rebuild/replacements, valve rebuild/replacements, piping modification/repair, etc.

  • Additional responsibilities include leading all aspects of maintenance service providers and equipment providers.

  • Completing quality and safety documentation and completing the work in a safe, compliant, and timely manner according to planning and predefined schedules with minimal impact to production while aligning with GMPs, SOPs, and Pfizer policies and regulations.

  • Work in a highly productive and efficient manner to enhance the quality of activities completed with focus on maintenance excellence.

  • Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key partners.

  • Ensure work order documentation is completed accurately.

  • Reviewing and technically approving maintenance reports, forms, plans and records.

  • Identify waste, work-flow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assist with implementation.

  • Identify opportunities to learn new skills an actively participate in development that will improve overall team performance.

  • Represent the Maintenance team in discussions and meetings with management, peers and other site functions.

  • Provide facility, lab and manufacturing support as needed with on-call rotation - this may be outside of normal working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High School Diploma / GED and 6 years of Utility Operations or Maintenance experience OR

  • Associate's degree and 4 years of Utility Operations or Maintenance experience OR

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Aptitude in basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.

  • Knowledge of the general construction trades.

  • Well-developed time management and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic.

Nice-to-Have

  • 5+ years of combined education, training, and experience in utility operations and mechanical maintenance with an emphasis on plant utility and/or process equipment and systems.

  • 3+ years knowledge of pneumatics, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, an ability to effectively perform associated maintenance activities.

  • Knowledge of working in a highly regulated function - cGMP.

  • Experience executing and documenting maintenance work order in a computerized maintenance management system.

  • Experience operating and monitoring equipment by interfacing with building automation system and process automation system.

Ability to work weekends, travel and work in aseptic areas (gowning requirements)

This position will require a significant amount of on-the-job training on a 5x8 schedule (Mon - Fri, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM). Following completion of training (approximately 8 weeks), this position will move to 4x10 schedule back half of the week (Wed - Sat, 06:00 AM to 4:30 PM).

The salary for this position ranges from $31.75 to $52.91 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company's policies.
