Boston University TEACHING PROFESSIONAL, College of Arts & Sciences, History of Art & Architecture in BOSTON, Massachusetts

Assist primary instructors with grading, leading discussion sections and advising students. This Ten-month appointment has a AY24/25 effective date and will include five sections per semester, has regular BU benefits. Duties are akin to those of a teaching assistant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist primary instructor to lead and prepare five discussion sections per semester.

  • Assist primary instructor to grade quizzes and very short papers for each of five sections per semester.

  • Attend lectures 2-3 times a week. Take notes; consult with instructor for clarification of main points for which students will be held responsible.

  • Office hours, totaling 5 hours a week, with additional times as needed. This involves answering student questions, clarifying material they don't understand, discussing and helping them prepare for their assignments, giving them tips on how to develop a cogent argument and write well

Required Skills

PhD and 1-3 years work experience required.
