Boston University SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO CREATOR, Marketing & Communications, Community Engagement in BOSTON, Massachusetts

Boston University's Marketing & Communications department seeks a passionate and creative Social Media Video Creator. In this role, you will create engaging and compelling social media-first video content that aligns with our brand and social media strategy. You will work closely with the Director of Social Media and other team members to develop and execute content that drives engagement, incorporates trends related to the University, and increases brand awareness. You will also highlight BU's strategic priorities and institutional values, including community, academic excellence, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience in content creation, focusing on short-form or social media-style video content.

  • Strong storytelling skills and the ability to create compelling narratives.

  • Experience filming videos on Smartphones and professional cameras.

  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.

  • Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and YouTube Shorts.

  • Knowledge of social media trends and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Comfortable appearing and speaking in front of the camera.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.

  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) skills are a plus.
