Boston University RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, School of Medicine, Biochemistry in BOSTON, Massachusetts

We are seeking a Research Technician to investigate the molecular mechanisms regulating mitochondrial DNA packaging and activity using modern molecular genetics in mammalian cell culture and in vitro biochemical systems. The research will include mammalian cell culture, transfection and gen transfer in cultures cells, DNA and RNA preparation an analysis, and recombinant protein purification and activity assays. In addition, the individual will perform lab management duties, including maintaining supplies and common reagents.

Required Skills

  • BA or BS in biology, biochemistry or a related discipline.

  • At least 1 year experience on a lab-based research project
