Boston University RESEARCH SPECIALIST III, Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The primary focus of this position will be assisting with a multi-year, quantitative, and qualitative program evaluation of the effectiveness of VHV at California state prisons.

For the VHV project, responsibilities will include: (1) assisting Dr. Litz with overseeing the activities of the research assistant and project coordinator assigned to this project and providing mentorship; (2) scheduling data collection efforts with study collaborators/prison officials and obtaining necessary access; (3) managing any issues that arise during data collection, perhaps including personally collecting data in California; (4) ensuring data quality control, including informed consent and adverse event documentation; (5) communicating with and drafting documents for the regulatory bodies associated with this research project; and (6) eventually assisting with data analysis, data interpretation, and manuscript preparation. Outside of the VHV project, responsibilities include assisting Dr. Litz with various research functions, including manuscript preparation, grant writing, data analysis, administrative tasks in support of lab projects, and the career mentorships o f junior lab members.

Required Skills

Master’s degree with 3-5 years of experience.
