Product Owner - Voluntary Benefits

Full-time, Hybrid Schedule, Boston or Springfield, MA office

The Opportunity

MassMutual’s Worksite team is adding Product Owner positions to support our growth with our voluntary benefits products. As a Product Owner, you will work across the Worksite business and technology partners to create, drive and execute strategies resulting in cohesive customer experiences. The Product Owner will specialize in creating documentation requirements, correspondence and procedures for our new products.

The Team

The Worksite Insurance business is growing as we aim to reach middle class workers in support of MassMutual’s vision to provide financial well-being to all Americans. Worksite has achieved success in recent years distributing our Group Voluntary and Executive products through our multi-channel distribution relationships. To further this success, we must continue to evolve our strategy to reach more benefits producers and customers, while providing them an enhanced self-service, digital experience to allow us to aggressively grow top line sales. Worksite, which provides protection benefits such as life, disability, critical illness and accident insurance through employers, complements MassMutual’s retirement plans business with the goal of enhancing the financial wellness of Americans through their employers.

The Impact:

In this role you will work in a collaborative, action-oriented and customer-focused environment. You will serve as a senior supplemental health expert and resource on processes, projects, as well as partner with other business areas to identify continuous improvement opportunities that will enhance the customer experience. You'll formulate and define business and/or systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable industry requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering business and/or system limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.

  • Provide analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper business and/or system requirements.

  • Guide and advise less-experienced Business Analysts.

  • Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of business and/or systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product effectiveness and identify areas of improvement.

  • Lead iterative cycles of testing, feedback, and refinement in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work closely with agile teams to ensure clarity of vision, and effective planning and execution of product strategies.

  • Advocate for the end-user, ensuring the product interfaces and user journeys are intuitive, accessible, and meet the specific needs of different customer segments.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ Years of experience in an Analyst (Business or Technical), Product Owner, Business Consultant, or similar role

  • 3+ Years of experience with Group Insurance, Worksite, Voluntary Benefits or Supplemental Products or 5+ years of experience working in financial services or insurance industry

  • 2+ Years of experience eliciting, analyzing, validating, and document business, organizational operational and/or system requirements

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience with Group Insurance, Worksite, Voluntary Benefits or Supplemental Products

  • Experience with Financial Services, FinTech, InsurTech, Life Insurance and/or Annuities, and/or Disability

  • Experience in user-centered design and customer experience management.

  • Product Owner Certification

Salary Range: $110,400.00-$144,900.00
