Job Overview
The Molecular Cardiology Research Institute at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, invites post-doctoral applications for a position to study sex differences in vascular aging in the laboratory of Dr. Jennifer DuPont. The overall objective of the DuPont Lab is to understand the mechanisms that contribute to sex differences in the development of arterial stiffness and vascular dysfunction with aging. The DuPont Lab is NHLBI funded and examines the role of sex hormones and their receptors in the development of arterial stiffness throughout the lifespan.
A highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow is sought, ideally with prior experience in cardiovascular physiology. The laboratory uses state of the art molecular and cellular biology assays, ex vivo vascular function studies, and state-of-the-art mouse models to address clinically relevant questions in vascular biology and physiology. Prior experience in utilizing mouse models is preferred but not required.
The Molecular Cardiology Research Institute (MCRI) is an internationally known institute with several principal investigators studying diverse topics of molecular medicine. The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal Investigator on research projects studying sex differences and the role of sex hormones in vascular disease. As needed, the individual will be required to independently develop protocols and establish new methodologies in the laboratory. The applicant would be intimately involved in writing and presenting new discoveries.
Minimum Qualifications :
- MD, PHD or both in a relevant field of study.

- Record of publication in relevant field of study.

Conducts independent research projects within the healthcare field, under the guidance and mentorship of senior researchers.
Designs and implements research studies, including experimental protocols, data collection methods, and statistical analysis plans.
Analyzes and interprets research data, using appropriate statistical techniques and software.
Prepares research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and scientific meetings.
Collaborates with other researchers and professionals to develop and refine research hypotheses, study designs, and methodologies.
Stays updated with the latest advancements and breakthroughs in healthcare research and apply relevant knowledge to ongoing projects.
Assists in securing research funding by contributing to grant writing and research proposal development.
Collaborates with healthcare professionals and institutions to collect clinical data and samples for research purposes.
Contributes to the development and validation of new diagnostic tools, treatments, and interventions.
Participates in the preparation of research reports, progress updates, and grant applications.
Mentors and provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students involved in research projects.
Collaborates with industry partners to translate research findings into practical applications and technologies.
Collaborates with regulatory bodies and ethics committees to ensure compliance with research protocols and regulations.
Contributes to the dissemination of research findings to healthcare professionals, policymakers, and the general public through various channels, such as seminars, workshops, and publications.
Maintains accurate and organized records of research data, protocols, and results, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
