Tufts Medicine Physician Assistant - Plastic Surgery Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts

Tufts Medical Center is currently seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team in Plastic Surgery. This position will be full time days and be primarily based at our main campus in Boston, MA with one day spent weekly at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA.

Tufts Medical Center is the tertiary center for the Tufts Medicine Health System which also includes the MelroseWakefield Healthcare and Lowell General Hospital.

How you’ll transform patient care:

  • Serve as OR assist at Tufts Medical Center and Melrose Wakefield Hospital

  • Perform AM rounds on inpatients

  • Conduct OR schedule prep and post-operative checks

  • Perform Pre-operative H&Ps and post-operative appointments

  • Coordinate OR coverage with residents and staff

  • Attend tumor board

  • Respond to clinical questions from EPIC in-basket and phone messages

  • Confirm completion /receipt of pre-operative clearances and testing

  • Complete disability paperwork and letters

  • Complete Operative Consent

  • Place pre-operative orders

  • Complete discharge instructions and order discharge medications

  • Complete prior-authorization requests

  • See urgent clinic visits

Who you are:

  • Graduate of an accredited and/or approved Physician Assistant program

  • Current license as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

  • Prior surgical PA experience preferred, new graduates considered

  • Current certification in CPR required

  • A team player who is excited to work cooperatively with a wide range of stakeholders and disciplines to champions world class patient satisfaction and support
