This vital role focuses on working with other Trust departments and outside vendors for execution of event logistics. The event roster includes: Champions for Children’s, Milagros para Niños and Mix 104.1 Cares for Kids Radiothon. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with an on-site requirement of six days per month.

This Special Events Officer will:

  • Oversee all logistical elements of event production including pre and post event receptions

  • Manage event volunteers and management companies

  • Develop systems for day of event production and oversees implementation

  • Work with and manage the relationships with outside associations or organizations involved with event.

  • Assist with stewarding corporate sponsors including sponsor recognition at events.

  • Work closely with Development Communications, PR Officer and Web Site team to coordinate press, create and develop marketing materials/ collateral, develop website and all communications for event.

  • Work closely with Development Services to develop and maintain an effective method for tracking and acknowledging gifts, ensuring proper recognition.

  • Participate in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of potential donors

  • Coordinate and oversee the expense projections and budgets for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • As part of the special events team, will assist in planning, organizing and implementing the activities for other events and programs as needed.

    To qualify, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years’ previous experience in development in a mid volume department and “for profit” sectors, special events, and sales.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written communication skills relating to management staff and donors.

  • Analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and/or improve, enhance or upgrade complex financial, data processing, and marketing systems and programs.

  • Ability to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair and workable solutions.

  • Consistent attention to detail, high level of productivity, solution oriented performer who can be responsive to both staff and donor issues.

  • Strong technical skills in generic software programs (MS Office, Excel) and information systems and the ability to develop proficiency in specific data base management systems.

  • Ability to work occasional weekends for special events as needed.
