Overview of Team/ Function:
The Information Security department manages vulnerability management, incident response, and Insider Risk activities of users and systems within the Boston District. As a member of the Information Security team for the Boston Fed, you will provide technical and procedural security expertise, project leadership and participates on a variety of existing and evolving technologies. You will ensure network security access and protect against unauthorized access, modifications, or destruction. This includes: Pen-Testing, configuring reoccurring vulnerability scanning against workstations as well as web applications, developing reporting based on these scan results to be compliant with the latest FRISS standards, and developing and implementing procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Federal Reserve information assets.
Perform problem determination as needed on the more technical products and recommend changes to existing procedures or software configuration to reduce the risk or occurrence.
Maintain and administer systems to protect from unauthorized users, report and resolve security violations.
Direct technical system reviews, risk management assessments, security assessments, for all Bank information systems.
Independently provide advanced security consultation in the preparation of requirements, design, implementation, and training for all Bank information systems.
Recommend systems, technologies and applications to improve the Bank's information security posture and efficiency.
Work with Division management on security planning issues either directly or through their immediate supervisor.
Develop and evaluate policies, standards, procedures and training needs related to the Bank's computing environment.
Contribute to, and/or lead, System level security work groups.
Advance technical knowledge in security-related technologies through self-education and formal training.
Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience.
A CISSP is strongly desired.
Experience in multiple client-server technologies is required, and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
