Boston University DIRECTOR, STUDENT ACTIVITIES, Division of Student Affairs in BOSTON, Massachusetts

As a pivotal leader within the Division of Student Affairs, the Director of Student Activities reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Students and is responsible for spearheading a comprehensive student engagement program that boosts school spirit, enriches the BU student experience, and provides students with opportunities to explore their interests and achieve their personal goals. The Director is committed to student-centered leadership, providing vision, strategic direction, policy development, budget management, and oversight for the department's various programs, functions, and traditions.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree and minimum of five years of progressively responsible and successful leadership in student affairs or student activities.

  • Experience with advising and supervising student programming, student organizations, fraternity and sorority life, and leadership programs at the college or university level.

  • Experience in supervising full-time staff and managing successful large-scale events and programs.

  • Self-motivation in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Multi-tasking ability and prioritization in fluid environments with shifting priorities.

  • Strong understanding of ethical professional conduct and best practices in student affairs.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Independent work capacity and program initiation.

  • This role involves evening and weekend responsibilities as needed.
