Child Life Specialists work to enhance patients’ emotional, social, and cognitive growth during a hospital visit, taking into consideration each child’s family, culture, and developmental needs. They use developmental interventions and play to help patients and families adjust to and understand their health care experiences.
We currently have positions available in the following areas:
Neonatal ICU
Medical/Surgical ICU
Inpatient Medicine
Autism Spectrum Center
Emergency Department
Radiology, (Nuclear Medicine)
Weymouth and Waltham Satellite locations
Per Diem & More!
To qualify, you must have:
BA degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in Child Life.
Completion of 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist.
General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced ‑ based knowledge.
Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.
Child Life Certification is required within one year of hire
