This Cerner PathNet Analyst shall be responsible for:

  • Researching and identifying the requirements of information system programmatic needs. Analyzing vendor and internally developed solutions to meet the integrated needs of Lab Medicine.

  • Assisting in the specification, design, development and coding, testing, and implementing software applications that support the needs of Lab Medicine and other departments considering the individual goals and objectives of each entity.

  • Providing analytical and technical guidance to team members and clients. Identifying requirements, developing application design, coding, planning, and executing testing, and ensuring that the application delivered meets specifications.

  • Providing application support, training, and documentation to Lab IT Team members and Lab Medicine staff.

  • Observing, guiding, verifying and checking software updates of less experienced Lab IT Team members.

  • Recording decisions, purposes, and applicable business rules. Preparing user documentation.

  • Developing and preparing reports for operations, senior management and others departments.

  • Performing special projects as assigned.

  • Assisting other team members as needed while maintain workload and productivity.

In order to qualify you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Clinical Laboratory Science

  • 1 year experience working with a laboratory information system

  • Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs for Laboratory Medicine and other hospital departments.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empath in difficult interpersonal situations.
