65102BRTitle:Benefits Specialist, Health & WelfareDepartment:Human ResourcesAutoReqId:65102BRStatus:Full-TimeStandard Hours per Week:40 Shift:DayJob Category:Human ResourcesJob Posting Description:The Benefits Specialist, Health and Welfare is responsible for assisting with the administration of the hospital’s health and welfare programs within the scope of medical, dental, vision, FSA, life, disability, and other voluntary benefits. Role will also include compliance, communications, and ad hoc projects as needed. Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS and in coordination with providers/vendors. Acts as a customer service support liaison to the HR Employee Service Center for any escalations with benefit enrollments or issues handling them with professionalism and respect. Expected to manage a variety of tasks with good time management skills. This position is 80% Remote.
The Benefit Specialist, Health & Welfare will:
Support the day to day administration of the hospital’s benefit programs
Administer benefit plans in compliance with plan documents and contracts
Assist with compliance and communications (compliance testing, communication posting on SharePoint) as well as ad hoc projects
Reconcile and process benefit vendor invoices
Act as a liaison between the organization and third-party benefits providers
Audit monthly/weekly vendor enrollment and eligibility files
Works with HRIS and vendor to ensure accurate and time data transmission as needed
Assist employees in understanding the organization’s benefits offerings
Support orientation and/or enrollment meetings
Provide guidance with claims or enrollment processes
Maintain records related to benefits plans participation or contributions
To qualify you must:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree and benefits certification preferred
Minimum of one year of experience in Human Resources required
Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word, etc.
General understanding of payroll processes and benefit deduction set up
Analytical skills required to resolve problems of a routine to moderately complex nature
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
High level of attention to detail with the ability to multi-task; Accuracy required with speed of processing data, strong technical aptitude
Requires the highest level of customer service professionalism and quality in all interactions
