Boston University's Department of Computer Science seeks an Assistant to the Chair. This position works with Computer Science, faculty, staff, and students to provides support and coordination for the functions of the Chair which includes Faculty Actions: faculty related searches, faculty appointments and reappointments, promotion and tenure cases. This position coordinates faculty sabbatical paperwork, annual teaching plans, faculty annual reports and external activity reports, and the annual faculty merit review process. The Assistant plans, schedules and coordinates departmental retreats, seminars, faculty meetings and assist with convocation planning and logistics. This position provides maintenance of departmental records and confidential documents and assists with other tasks as requested by the Chair. Work closely with the Department Manager on tasks needed by the Chair and Faculty. The ideal candidate will have excellent initiative, leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and must be able to function independently and manage complex and confidential materials with discretion. The ability to self-prioritize and to motivate others in order to ensure progress daily across multiple deadlines is critical. The Computer Science department is a large, collaborative and dynamic environment that values diversity and inclusion.

A Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience is required for this position.
