Boston University ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, College of Engineering, Administration in BOSTON, Massachusetts

Provide career advising and career education programs for College of Engineering students. Primary focus on either undergraduate or graduate students, depending on interest & experience. Serve as team lead for one of our five support functions. We are a six-person team running a full-service career office for students who are smart, hard-working, and in high demand for their STEM skills & education. Programs and services include:

  • individual advising, workshops, career courses, and online resources

  • career fairs hosted in fall and spring, both in-person and virtual

  • alumni mentorship & networking programs

  • employer outreach and event hosting

  • high-quality marketing to promote our events, programs, and opportunities •survey & data collection on internship and first-destination outcomes

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide 1:1 career advising for students from all College of Engineering programs, with special emphasis on advising undergraduate students.

  • Create, deliver, and continually improve career education programs.

  • Create, distribute, and continually improve career education content, including how-to guides and online video instruction.

  • Provide outreach to student groups to deliver partnered career programs, especially events related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Serve as team lead in one of the following support functions, based on strengths and interests:

  • Event Planning & Management

  • Marketing & Communications

  • Employer Engagement

  • Alumni Engagement

  • Data & Platform Management

  • Career Education Content Management

Required Skills

B.A./B.S., Master's preferred. Five years of related experience.
