American Tower Analyst Tax in Boston, Massachusetts

We are seeking a Tax Analyst to join American Tower’s Corporate Tax organization. The Tax Analyst is involved in preparing the tax provision and compliance, fixed asset reconciliations, estimated tax payments, and other tax-related projects.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

  • Master’s in Taxation preferred.

  • CPA preferred.

  • Between 1–3 years’ tax experience in either a large public accounting or corporate environment preferred.

  • Experience with tax provision and federal and state income tax compliance issues preferred.

  • Experience with OneSource tax software, online research tools, and Microsoft Office applications preferred.

  • Able to learn new tools and technologies for process and system improvements.

  • Strong follow-up skills: ability to organize applicable timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

  • Strong organizational skills: ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

What You Can Offer Us

  • Prepare federal (Forms 1120-REIT, 1120, and 1065), foreign information reporting (Forms 5471, 8865, and 8858), and state and local income tax returns, which includes gathering data and preparing workpapers, income tax estimates, and extension calculations.

  • Assist with preparing the ASC740 quarterly and annual tax provisions as well as domestic and foreign return-to-provision analyses upon completion of tax returns.

  • Assist with tax technology and process and system improvement initiatives.

  • Assist with responding to inquiries from tax authorities in connection to tax audits and notices.

  • Assist with taxable income calculations and long-term forecasts.

  • Review regular, alternative minimum, and earnings and profits tax depreciation.

  • REIT compliance and calculations.

  • Other duties as assigned.
