Boston University ACADEMIC PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR, College of General Studies, Business and Finance in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The College of General Studies seeks an Academic Program Administrator to support the Dean’s Office and Boston-London Program. This position is a vital part of the College, reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations and working directly with faculty, staff, students, and internal/external partners.

  • Plays primary or secondary role in Faculty Actions, including but not limited to processing new appointments, re-appointments, terminations, retirements, promotions, leaves of absences/sabbaticals, annual reports etc.

  • Manages hourly staff payroll and processes stipends, as needed.

  • Oversees student employment for the College and facilitates the processing of semiannual student merit scholarships.

  • Oversees the logistics of the Boston side of the Boston-London Program, regularly meeting with faculty to discuss plans and execute all necessary program logistics (e.g., transportation, catering, tickets, speaker contracts/payments etc.). Liaises between The Study Abroad Program and CGS faculty to create and submit annual London Travel & Expense Concur reports.

  • Executes external disbursement payments, as needed.

  • Provides secondary support for events and programs, purchasing, building needs, and Dean’s Office management.

  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Skills

A cover letter is required for consideration.

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years of administrative experience.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, troubleshoot, remain level-headed, handle confidential information appropriately, and communicate effectively with Leadership Team, faculty, staff, and internal/external constituents.

  • MS Office proficiency required and experience with SAP/BUworks, Zoom, Ariba and Concur preferred.
