Job Description:

Best Buy Virtual Store Personal Trainers support customers' goals and provide health solutions to help meet their goals. Trainers introduce customers to products and exercises that are based upon their personal goals, skill level and needs. This role engages customers using relationship skills, inspires them to utilize technology to its full potential, and delivers a world class experience. They work online through video, phone, and online chat. The ability to easily understand and navigate technology interfaces that will be used for customer interactions is key.

The Virtual Store Personal Trainer maintains knowledge of products and services through necessary trainings, certifications, and self-development. They serve as expert in their respective product category. They deliver profitability by exceeding revenue, margin, and operational targets as well as leveraging technology to collaborate with their peer group in other locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Helps drive a positive customer experience by building relationships, exhibiting empathy, and providing solutions to their needs.

  • Consults with customers to understand their goals and current fitness levels.

  • Advises customers on which products can help meet their health and wellness goals.

  • Motivates and guides customers through their digital shopping experience.

  • Promotes and sells health and wellness products and services.

  • Recommends comprehensive workout and nutrition plans for customers.

  • Teaches customers how to use equipment and train safely with proper form and technique.

  • Remains current on credentials, certifications, and continuing education requirements.

  • Provides in-depth demonstrations and solutions across different virtual platforms.

  • Interacts with customers via live-video, phone, concurrent online screen sharing, and online chat.

  • Assists Best Buy associates in need of expertise, including demonstrating product and peer to peer training.

  • Maintains merchandising and functionality standards of products and spaces throughout the virtual store.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a current and valid Certified Personal Trainer (NCCA, NBFE or DEAC -recognized)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • 1 year of personal training experience

  • 1 year of sales, customer service, or retail experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, or other health related field

  • Ability to demonstrate proper form and technique for exercise movements

  • Experience creating successful nutrition and workout plans

  • CPR and AED Certified

  • Experience with fitness, cardiovascular training, nutrition, and program design

  • Experience creating and curating content on social and video platforms (Personally or professionally)

  • 2 years of sales, customer service or retail experience
