GED Testing Service is hiring! Join our high performing Technology team in developing website and mobile app tools/features to help adults gain their high school equivalency diploma and change their lives for the better! You will work closely with our tech team and collaborate on various activities, including, but not limited to, website/mobile app feature improvements, tv show recommendations, hot pepper eating contests (completely optional), and sharing pet photos (top priority).

SCOPE OF JOB

The Full Stack Developer for GED Testing Service works within the Technology team and is responsible for building features and tools for our website and mobile app in an Agile team setting. Team collaboration, creativity, and innovation are keys to our success.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with product owners, business analysts, UX designers, QA and other developers to build features/functionality for website and mobile app platforms

  • Create user interfaces, write server-side code, and integrating components

  • Follow coding best practices to write clean, modular, and maintainable code

  • Write unit tests, conduct integration testing, and ensure the software functions correctly

  • Evaluate user requirements, input and output data, and other factors

  • Upgrade and maintain software after implementation

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline

  • Ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of the following concepts as well as practical experience applying these concepts in the real world:

  • (2+ years) Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)

  • (3+ years Externally-facing Web Application design/development using MVC frameworks (JSF, Struts, or similar)

  • 6+ years) Core Java and J2EE principles, syntax and best practices

  • (4+ years) Core Spring

  • (2+ years) Web Services (SOAP and/or REST)

  • (2+ years) JPA/Hibernate

  • (1+ years) AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3

  • (3+ years) Design patterns

  • (5+ years) SQL, RDBMS

  • (1+ years) Build tools (gradle, ant, npm, Bower, or similar)

  • (2+ years) Non-functional requirements such as Responsive Web Design, Accessibility, Security, I18N, Performance, and/or Scalability
