Provides a high level of technical expertise & support. Monitors and manages systems and network infrastructure within the Data Center or a Service Desk. Depending on location and size of Data Center, is also responsible for the remote monitoring and managing of other subordinate Data Centers during its unmanned hours. Produces and maintains documentation as per departmental document control standards, including support documents, project plans and status reports. Ensures that appropriate documentation is delivered- such as, support procedures for 1st Level, also for 2nd line, Operations staff, training documents, Service Level Agreements. Provides input to records, quality systems and management reports as required. Delivers technical capability to standard and time, Senior Technicians within specialist functional teams will be required to provide specialist support in major incidents, Ensures efficient utilization of available resources. Coordinates shipping and perform installation of systems into the data centers. Provides reliability and availability of systems and services to meet agreed service levels. Acts as liaison between Data Center Operations, Customer Service, and 2nd/3rd level support. May schedule staff as necessary to ensure adequate coverage in the work area May mediate and resolve minor personnel conflicts, informing supervisor of major difficulties or when the problem cannot be quickly resolved. Works with computer operators to expedite the flow of computer processing through the facility Manages 1st level problem diagnosis, escalation and strives toward restoration of service. Reduces the volume of incidents for the specialist functional area. Provide Incident Management, Incident Coordination and Incident Communication for all incidents on portfolio of infrastructures / shared services. Provides diagnostic and troubleshooting support for systems, applications and customers. Ensures incidents are formally handed over to incoming controllers at the end of a shift. May provide 24x7 rotating pager support. Assists in the production of detailed implementation/project plans across multiple work streams. Follows and embraces Project and Implementation processes, ensuring all plans and expectations are well grounded. Uses departmental change management procedures in defining, planning and implementing change in such a way that service disruption is minimized, and adherence to Service Level Agreements is ensured Manages risks and issues, including following appropriate escalation procedures. Ensures appropriate documentation is reviewed for accuracy, updated and delivered- Establishes and maintains configuration documentation and assist with general asset management process. Documents shift activity and reports potential problems to staff according to established procedures Coordinates all communication during all outages to the necessary organizations, providing estimated resolution time, problem updates, and suggested work around while escalating as appropriate. Coordinates activities between different external groups where required in order to ensure full support and information is provided. Applies technical policies and standards to the systems supported. Provides input to records, quality systems and management reports as required. May contribute to the definition and implementation of operating procedures and operability on new and existing systems, ensuring adherence to Site Operations Standards. Enforces rigor and control in the release process to ensure product and services are released in a supportable manner to defined standards of quality. May ensure that software compliance is maintained for all the systems supported.
