LSEG Developer – Cloud Data Engineer in Bengaluru, India

Role Profile

A modern Cloud-based environment and tooling to help process/model large data sets that enable the team to prototype and validate the research/product ideas for building, testing, and validating indexes

  • Access to data across asset Index and analytics and other supporting data.

  • Ability to consume approved data from on-prem and 3rd party vendor data to research lab and vice-verse

  • Optimized for experimentation by Research teams and with relevant tooling support for large data-processing

  • Support and accelerate prototyping and development of models.

Role Description:

Cloud Engineer on aws to help us Data onboarding, tooling, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.

  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.

  • Work with members of the team to ensure data is ingested, curated/standardized, stored, and handled accurately to support business needs

  • Experience with API's for integration and consuming and exposing call via API

  • Design and implement data engineering, ingestion, and curation functions on AWS cloud using AWS native or custom programming.

  • Writing utility tooling custom functions for automation and helper routines

Work Experience:

  • 3 + years of relevant experience in an aws (IaaS, Serverless/Lambda, Compute, VPCs, s3, Step Functions)

  • Hands-on experience with data orchestration and workflows

  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team

  • Certification AWS – Associate level or above. AWS Developer specialty certification preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or IT related field or equivalent IT related experience

IT Skills:

  • Experience with complex business projects

  • Great attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and the implications of those requirements on current and future roadmaps

  • Proficient in SQL for data analysis

  • Good background in Linux/Unix administration.

  • Experience with aws serverless application creation and deployment using Lamda

  • Proficiency in at least one language from our stack: python, .net

  • Strong notions of security best practices (e.g., using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.).

  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch

  • Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.

  • Experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda is a plus. For example, the Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM). Continuous Integration and source control

Soft Skills:

  • Financial markets domain experience a plus

  • Strong communication, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Able to self-manage and work independently in a fast-paced environment with dynamic requirements and priorities

  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

  • Agile development processes (SCRUM and Kanban)

  • Experience with Jira a plus
