General Electric Lead Customer Quality Engineer in Beijing, China

Job Description Summary

The CQE(Customer Quality Engineer) provides leadership and support to improve product quality from customer view. This position will focus on customer voice about product quality, leads continuous improvement across engineering, manufacturing, logistics and suppliers quality teams. This person is critical in the plant as contact window of product quality for worldwide internal and external customers.

Job Description

This person will be responsible for driving the quick response to customer voice and driving effectiveness of root cause analysis, monitoring improvement result and customer feedback through data analysis and case study with problem solving tools. Demonstrates global communication skills and systemic problem solving skills with lean six-sigma tools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the meaningful and timely resolution of customer voice on quality issue, deliver product quality with better customer experience.

  • Led the plant-wide effort to improve product quality from customer view, and to identify root causes and solutions for quality defects and test failures.

  • Provide leadership and coaching for problem solving skills for wing to wing cross function teams.

  • Work with design, manufacturing, and design transfer teams to drive changes that will reduce quality issues and result in higher long-term reliability.

  • Leverage our supplier quality and material resources to make real improvements in the quality of supplied materials.

  • Promote zero quality control with immediate action, source solution, self-inspection and poka-yoke.

Quality Specific Goals:

Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required Knowledge and understanding of production process Work Instructions and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specifications


Bachelors Degree in Engineering and 3 years of supply chain experience or HS diploma and 5 years of product quality/supply chain experience Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes Strong communication skills, verbal and written Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, Minitab, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Black Belt or Master belt certification Lean manufacturing experience Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams Demonstrated analytical, process management skills Knowledge of medical diagnostic imaging products and service
