Pearson Country Care HR Consultant in Beijing, China

Our team: The Country Care HR team sits within HR Operations. Our team has a geographical, in-country focus on operational excellence and compliance. We are also the executors and experts of local intelligence. Our Purpose - Add Life to a Lifetime of Learning

About the role: Passionate about employee experience, the Country Care HR Consultant will report to the Country Care Lead. This role will be an operational driver and in-country HR subject matter expert. This position will partner with HRBP's of business division, Centers of Excellence, shared services (“Pearson People Services”), Payroll, Solutions (IT), and Finance, to keep Pearson competitive and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the HR operations in country.

  • Maximize the value of services across the employee lifecycle, through an exceptional delivery and provide expertise support in an HR compliance standpoint.

  • Maintain and partner locally with in country HR vendors and Global HR COEs to ensure employees and leaders are receiving the proper support.

  • Ensure all HR mandatory compliance requirements in place satisfying local legislation and regulation.

  • Ensure new local or regional policy, procedure are introduced, reviewed, updated and communicated.

  • Maintain positive relationships with the global Country Care members to ensure effective co-operation and synergy. Share best practices.

  • Identify gaps and work on a process improvement portfolio. Provide an exceptional experience through innovation, simplification, and digitization.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field is desirable. A solid 8 years in HR operations work experience.

  • Significant local experience in Employee Relations, Benefits, Compliance matters

  • Global mindset and cultural awareness to identify how to navigate across local and global teams with same level of influence and acceptance.

  • A natural ability to discern, organize, and convey complex problems and solutions.

  • Thrive in an environment with an agenda for change, growth, and innovation.
