Black & Veatch (Power, Gas, Fuel & Chemicals, Telecom, Consulting business lines) are selectively expanding within one of the world’s most respected engineering, consulting, and construction management firms. We are seeking a Project Director to support our rapidly expanding EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and engineering services business for focusing on Power Generation, Mining, LNG/FLNG, Water solution Business in the APAC region.

Job Summary

Manages all aspects of medium to large Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects for Power Generation, Mining, LNG/FLNG, Water solution Business, including risk to cost, schedule, quality.

Responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. Provides for the successful staffing of the project.

Manages and leads medium to large teams of multi-discipline professionals.

Coordinates and integrates the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third-party companies contributing to the initiative.

Leads the assigned new business pursuits supporting right through the entire sales process.

Actively supports new business PGM (Project Gross Margin) goals for the business and specifically for assigned pursuits.

Acquires and maintains leading edge technical knowledge for the chosen area of expertise.

Provides thought leadership at the conferences and industry events regularly.

Develops technical solutions and offers commercial recommendation to increase competitiveness through improved cost and schedule for project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage medium to large engineering projects involving multiple clients or partners, or medium EPC projects with minimal risk

  • Mange multiple clients and/or projects

  • Obtains new/repeat business on medium size projects; supports contract negotiations with client peers

  • Manages risk which may include fixed price engineering, new technology or new clients

  • Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.

  • Leads/ Supports assigned new business pursuits right through the Sales process in support of new business growth

  • Acts as subject matter expert in chosen area and presents thought leadership at the conferences.

  • Proactively leads effort to improves competitiveness through better technical and commercial offering for the clients

  • Manages customer expectations to ensure high customer satisfaction

  • Develop and Coaching of Talent within team

  • Building a team capability to align with business strategy and requirementManages large engineering projects involving multiple clients or partners or medium EPC projects.

  • Manages multiple clients and/or projects where the project team, client structure and/or project location present greater challenges.

  • Obtains new/repeat business on large size projects; supports contract negotiations with clients.

  • Manages multiple risks which includes fixed price or new technology or non-domestic markets or new clients. #LI-RK1

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of engineering/ science degree.

  • Minimum 12 years of experience as Project Director/ Manager.

  • Previous Project Management Experience on medium/large sized services projects or EPC Projects in Power generation, Mining, LNG/FLNG, Water solution Project Experience.

  • Experience of Power Generation, Mining, LNG/FLNG EPC project in APAC Market, focusing on Southeast Asia Market.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
