Job Summary:

As part of the Trane Official Product Select System (TOPSS) Team, the developer will partner with business equipment manufacturing locations to analyze, define, and test application product changes.

TOPSS provides equipment selection and performance information through our commercial and residential channels to our customers, account managers and distributors globally. Our selection tools are transforming into a modern web-based, mobile platform to satisfy the needs of our mobile sales force and Trane customers. This individual will provide software testing and technical expertise for TOPSS; This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in requirements gathering, design, development, user training, testing, and ongoing support of key business information systems.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and maintain test plans, manual and automated test scripts for user interface, functionality, system and "ad-hoc testing"

· Execute regression tests, functional tests and data tests

· Document quality assurance best practices

· Report, track and determine priority of reported bugs

· Developing routine tests and coordinating the testing effort.

· Interface with external vendor support service groups.

· Act as a subject matter expert for assigned systems.

· Communicate with business users within all levels of the organization.

· Provide 2nd level support/technical expertise to help desk support personnel.

· Work with geographically distributed team members, users, and customers.

· Limited travel is required.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CS, MIS or related technical field,

· Two to four years of professional experience in an IT role required.

Key Competencies:

· Sound Knowledge of HP UFT, Performance Center and Selenium tools.

· Sound Knowledge of Test and Defect Management tools like ALM and Jira

· Sound Knowledge on writing Excel Macros and Shell Scripts

· Well-versed in all testing methodologies (white vs. black box test work, system vs. functional).

· A solid understanding of quality assurance practice as part of the development process.

· Able to translate business needs into system requirements.

· Project management, time management, planning, organizational and analytical skills are required.

· Self-motivated, willing to take initiative, able to function effectively in independent and team-based situations.

· Written and oral communication skills require good interpersonal skills, able to express concepts and ideas with clarity.

· Understanding of software development process.

· Able to work on multiple projects at once and effectively prioritize tasks.
