PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position is responsible for the successful delivery of Constellation’s Wholesale Trading Ercot Regional portfolio. The Ercot Cash portfolio includes physical generation assets, PPA’s, load obligations, third party deals, and hedge transactions serving to accomplish the financial goals of Constellation.

Effectiveness in this role will require monitoring, maintaining, and managing the portfolio’s hourly power and fuel risk profiles across current day, next day, and balweek tenors, along with leading physical generation interactions and decision making. This trading role is expected to meet the annual financial plan for the portfolio of assets, in addition to deploying risk in a consistently profitable manner within the risk compliance policies of the company.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage overall portfolio, maintain portfolio positions, and deploy risk through power and fuel trading markets while adding new business dollars to the financial plan within portfolio commodity risk tolerances.

Provide pricing and deal origination support and analysis.

Support Day Ahead Ercot market activities and provide assistance to Asset Operations and Real Time Trading.

Provide project support as an involved member of the region’s business plan projects and departmental initiatives.

Lead Ercot regional discussions and provide insight as a subject matter expert, including direct development and support of annual Long Term Financial planning.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

Undergraduate degree required

Demonstrated in depth knowledge of the wholesale electricity markets and the associated infrastructure supporting those trading marketplaces

Extensive knowledge of North American RTO energy market construct, rules, and operation

Demonstrated decision making capabilities coupled with the ability to work under tight deadlines

Challenged by bottom-line results

Self motivated to achieve success in a rapidly evolving environment

Understanding of fuel markets and relationship to power markets

Preferred:

An advanced degree in Finance, MBA, Engineering, or equivalent analytic discipline
