Position Summary

CVS Health is seeking a skilled Cloud Technical Writer who excels at translating complex technical information into clear, engaging documentation. Drawing inspiration from industry leaders like Google and Facebook, this role will focus on producing high-quality documentation for cloud infrastructures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Cloud Technical Writer will create, maintain, and update technical documentation, including API references, developer guides, user manuals, and best practice documents for cloud services on GCP and AWS. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical teams and diverse audiences, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance across all documentation.

As a Cloud Technical Writer, you will

  • Develop content strategies that align with CVS Health’s technical standards and branding, inspired by the innovative documentation practices seen at Google and Facebook

  • Work closely with cloud architects, engineers, and product managers to gather technical details and ensure documentation accurately reflects current infrastructure and best practices

  • Participate in cross-functional reviews and integrate feedback to continuously improve the quality and clarity of technical materials

  • Ensure consistency in terminology, formatting, and style across all published materials, adhering to CVS Health’s communication standards

  • Translate complex cloud concepts into accessible language for both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical writing experience, with a strong portfolio focused on cloud technologies, particularly in GCP and AWS environments

  • 3+ years of experience with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Git) and content management systems (e.g., Confluence, JIRA)

  • Experience in creating documentation that is accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience implementing version control and structured authoring techniques (e.g., XML/DITA) to streamline updates and maintain documentation integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a healthcare or regulated industry environment

  • Advanced certifications in cloud technologies or technical writing

  • Knowledge of structured authoring methodologies and frameworks (e.g., XML, DITA)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
