Peak Performers Accountant III in Austin, Texas
Your primary duties in this accounting position is working within the Accounts Payables division to audit and reconcile invoices, purchase orders and all related documents to ensure compliance within the state guidelines. Having CAPPS experience is required for a seamless transition into this role.
Who you will be working with

Audits and reconciles invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation for accounts payable processing; ensures compliance with state and agency policies and procedures
Generates, reviews, and reconciles periodic accounting reports for assigned areas of responsibility; resolves discrepancies and exceptions appropriately
Reviews accounting and financial documents for accuracy and compliance with agency policies and procedures and with state statutes
Follows through on accounts payable functional processes to ensure timely payment without accruing interest charges
Processes accounting transactions in support of assigned areas of responsibility to ensure timely and accurate payments and reimbursements
Assist in budget loads
What are we looking for?
Experience in state payroll processing
Proficiency in operating computers using Microsoft applications including Excel and Word
Experience using CAPPS Financials and the Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS)
Two years of experience in State of Texas accounting and financial operations
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures affecting maintenance of accounting records and of automated accounting systems
About this position
Rate: $24.00 per hour
Length of engagement: 6 months – looking to hire full time
Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
