Project Manager, Federal PMO

Job Description:

The Federal Project Manager PMO in Cerner Government Services will plan and direct the work of project teams and cross-functional support teams, acting as the main point of contact for internal teams and project stakeholders. You will oversee creation and approval of detailed project plans, schedules and estimates, providing guidance and influencing adherence to established best practices and processes to drive successful outcomes. You will review and approve project team work to ensure adherence to scope, quality and productivity expectations and implement additional processes or reviews as needed to address systemic or recurring issues. This role will allow you to conduct risk analysis for identified and anticipated project risks and lead risk avoidance or mitigation strategies to minimize project impact. You will lead internal project meetings to provide updates to stakeholders on progress against critical paths and milestones, key operational and financial measures and risk assessments as well as engage and manage third party resources as needed to support project objectives.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 3 years of project/program management work experience

  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position

  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Care, Information Technology or Business Administration or a related field or equivalent work experience

  • At least 1 year of federal government project/program management work experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - Project Management Institute (PMI) certification

Expectations:

  • Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Arlington, Virginia area

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
