Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fulfill the critical role of Director, Data Solutions & Governance. As the Director, you will lead three key groups within our organization, namely Data Platform, Data Delivery, and Data Governance. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of data management and governance while ensuring its alignment with the company's overall data analytics objectives. Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, the Analytics leader, and the AI leader, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our data platform capabilities, optimizing data delivery processes, and fostering a culture of data governance and quality across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:

  2. Lead and manage a team of professionals in three areas: Data Platform, Data Delivery, and Data Governance.

  3. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment and provide mentorship and guidance to team members.

  4. Set goals and expectations, conduct performance evaluations, and initiate career development programs for team members.

  5. Data Strategy & Support:

  6. Develop and articulate a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.

  7. Drive the evaluation, selection, and implementation, and support of data technology solutions, including data platforms, tools, and frameworks.

  8. Ensure the scalability, availability, and security of data platforms and infrastructure.

  9. Data Delivery Optimization:

  10. Collaborate with business stakeholders and the Analytics leader to understand data delivery needs and develop efficient data pipelines, integration processes, and data delivery frameworks.

  11. Constantly monitor and improve data delivery performance, ensuring timely and accurate availability of data to end-users, analytics teams, and AI initiatives.

  12. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance data delivery efficiency and quality.

  13. Data Governance and Compliance:

  14. Establish and promote a strong data governance framework, ensuring conformity with applicable regulations, standards, and organizational policies.

  15. Collaborate with the Data Governance group to define and enforce data quality standards, data ownership, data lineage, and data access controls.

  16. Educate and promote data governance practices across the organization to foster a data-driven culture.

  17. Stakeholder Engagement:

  18. Engage with business stakeholders, the Analytics leader, and the AI leader to understand their data and analytics requirements, providing advisory and consulting services.

  19. Act as a trusted advisor, sharing insights and recommendations on data technology, delivery processes, and governance to drive business value and inform decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.

  • Proven experience of 15+ years in data technology, data management, and data governance roles, ideally within large enterprises.

  • Solid understanding of data platforms, data integration frameworks, and data analytics technologies.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in leading and motivating high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Deep understanding of Google Cloud, Collibra, data governance principles, compliance requirements, and best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and resolve data-related issues and challenges.

  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts and their integration with data technologies is advantageous.

  • Certifications in relevant areas, such as data management, data governance, or project management, are a plus.
