This position is located in Shoreview, MN and has the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.

This position supervises staff, provides leadership to the department’s statewide leadership development programs, and oversees products and services offered by the Office of Human Resources Workforce Development section. This position provides expert consultation in individual, team, and leadership development. This position is responsible for assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation of statewide programs as they relate to agency priorities. The incumbent also serves as an advisor for workforce development and learning in both internal and external matters including the identification and utilization of emerging workforce development and training practices and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of professional supervisory (supervising professional employees) experience OR Three years of advanced professional experience.

Experience must also demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in instructional design, facilitation, and training delivery.

  • Experience in adult education and learning theory and practice, sufficient for program and curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation.

  • Experience working as a project leader or lead worker demonstrating the ability to successfully communicate, motivate, and direct the work of other staff on project and work tasks.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in (Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training Development, Computer Graphics, or Computer Programming) substitutes for six months of advanced professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training Development, Computer Graphics, or Computer Programming.

  • Experience supervising professional employees.
