Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (CARE) in Anoka, MN is seeking talented, mission driven, person-centered Chemical Dependency Program Assistants to join our team and make a difference in the lives of others. CARE specializes in providing residential treatment services for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders. All services are person-centered, building on the individual's interests and capacity for growth, leading to a lifelong process of recovery. The Chemical Dependency Program Assistant supports the day-to-day activities of the Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (CARE) program. Collaboration with families of individuals supported, county case managers, community providers/team members, and the CARE multidisciplinary treatment team is an ongoing aspect of this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide orientation to clients upon admission.

  • Monitor/supervise clients; support and assist clients with personal hygiene needs, serve meals/snacks, provision of recreational activities with clients to support healthy leisure time skills.

  • Implement and provide instruction on a variety of programming to aid in the development of the client's growth and recovery.

  • Document and verbally report pertinent client information.

  • Administer and document medications, treatments and other therapies following the clients Individual Treatment Plan and applicable Policies and Procedures.

  • Transport clients as assigned.

  • Assure a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment and ongoing reinforcement of healthy engagement in group and individual treatment activities.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have all of the following:

  • Knowledge of substance use treatment programs sufficient to orient clients and explain program objectives.

  • Knowledge of substance use treatment processes and group dynamics sufficient to read and assist with the implementation of individual treatment plans and facilitate group discussions.

  • Ability to lead recreational activities for clients.

  • English language skills sufficient to read and understand instructions, prescriptions, orders, program plans and policies and to write/document client information for interpretation by other treatment team staff.
