General Purpose:
The QA Technician is responsible for performing, recording, and interpreting the results of all required testing; handling and shipping of all required samples; communicating any quality issues to appropriate people; maintaining and verifying the calibration of lab equipment; cleaning the lab and equipment; and providing coverage for QA personnel due to vacations, illness, or other requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare composite product samples for internal and external labs and coordinate delivery to labs
Perform grading analysis on finished products
Perform testing of environmental samples
Prepare daily lab reports
Calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment
Verify samples are representative of the complete lot for lab testing
Provide accurate testing and test results for product disposition
Guarantee accuracy of lab test equipment
Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Two- or four-year degree in food science or related field preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Accurate typing skills and proofreading skills, both words and numbers
Attention to detail
Ability to process and retain information
Ability to multi-task efficiently
Motivated self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Hours
- 5:00 PM-5:00 AM, rotating schedule
