Enterprise Technology Strategy and Innovation (ETSI) is the newest business line in the Advisory practice. Our practice is dedicated to advising CIOs and technology leaders, and helping them navigate the ever-changing digital landscape as a true business partner in the C-suite. The ETSI team consists of highly skilled subject matter experts in Enterprise Technology Strategy, Information Technology Service Management, Advanced Technology and Digital Solutions, IT Strategic Sourcing and Technology Resource Effectiveness who bring dedicated focus to the business of technology. The ETSI business line partners with our clients to cut through the clutter, ask the hard questions, and provide innovative and customized solutions that drive value and build trust.

Position Summary


The Creative and Design Services Manager oversees the projects and teamsdelivering a full suite of creative services including graphic and digital design, photography, video production, layout and desktop publishing, and UX/UI. You will lead project teams that deliver creative services to ETSI management as well as clients. You are responsible for delivering the assigned projects on-time and on-budget, managing quality control, while maintaining and building client relationships. You will coach and develop junior staff and project team members in alignment with the ETSI practice strategy and overall Grant Thornton brand standards. As a member of the ETSI team, you will participate in solution set development and collateral development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build relationships within the organization to work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality, on-brand materials including marketing collateral, web content, video and photography, proposals and presentations.
  • Lead creative project teams in development of collateral and multimedia materials to achieve desired competitive positioning in the market.
  • Manage the creative process from concept to completion.
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies.
  • Oversee creative development of client pitches and proposals to ensure that Grant Thornton visual communication and brand standards are met.
  • Meet with client and/or internal leadership to explain creative strategies and direction.
  • Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative project teams.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to understand their visual and brand guidelines and perform services.
  • Ensure consistent delivery on schedule, on cost, on scope, on benefit and within quality goals.
  • Work closely with Grant Thornton leadership to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues.
  • Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence.
  • Provide coaching and training to creative staff using design thinking and/or visual thinking techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Digital Design or related field preferred.

  • 8-10 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function, i.e. creative or digital agency, managing multi-million dollar projects, servicing cross-industry clients at a national level.
  • Deep understanding of brand development and multi-channel marketing concepts.
  • Demonstrated success in developing proposals and presentation materials.
  • Proven ability to manage creative teams and multiple clients and projects.
  • Strong portfolio of work across a variety of media.
  • Experience with Life Sciences, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Manufacturing clients preferred.
  • Ability to work additional hours and/or travel 50-70%

Knowledge / Skills

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, CoreDRAW, QuarkXPress, and similar tools.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles.
  • Experience creating Section 508 compliant materials.
  • Excellent multimedia content development abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain creative concepts and strategies to business leaders.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate a creative POV, motivating and inspiring internal and client teams.
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to identify and leverage resources internal and external to the enterprise to enhance creative capabilities that drive the client and Grant Thornton business.
  • Ability to work additional hours and travel domestically as needed.
