Albany Medical Center System Director Clinical Informatics-Inpatient in Albany, New York

The position provides leadership and management of the clinical informatics departments at each respective entity within Albany Med Health System. Coordination for the development, education, implementation and evaluation of clinical information systems. The Director reports to the System-Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) and System Chief Health Information Officer (CHIO).

Salary Range : $112,604.00 - $185,796.00

Supervision, oversight, and leadership of Acute Care Informatics teamsProvide leadership in developing and managing a unified informatics program that provides enterprise-wide support Develops the clinical informatics strategies related to IT procurement, implementation, maintenance and optimization in collaboration with the CNIO, ensuring consistency with system strategic priorities. Understand the impact of regulatory changes and communicate the impact of those changes on systems configuration andutilization. Collaborates with nursing, provider and organizational leaders in planning and implementing program expansion and growth, including new business ventures, construction, and projects Ensures a competent, technology-enabled workforce in collaboration with the IT and Education Services teams Incorporate research and evidence-based clinical knowledge into informatics practice- Supervision, oversight, and leadership of Acute Care/Ambulatory Informatics teams Develops and maintains standards of care that inform evidence-based practice, quality of care, patient safety and clinician workflow in collaboration with clinical leadership Act as a change agent in the identification, development, planning, implementation, and value measurement of informatics strategies to support quality patient care and professional practice Ensures nursing and provider practices and corresponding policies and procedures related to health IT follow appropriate Practice Acts, accreditation requirements and other applicable regulations and standardsEnsure that informatics principles adopted within AMHS inform proposed service redesigns to ensure they are effective in improving clinical practice and patient outcomes Ensure that the structures are in place to monitor effective and valid information flows within systems used to deliver care and manage the business Promote the advancement of clinical and business intelligence systems capable of reporting information needed to improve patient outcomes, support research, and improve operations across the continuum of care Work with clinical and IT leaders in evaluating the effectiveness of technologies and workflows that impact clinical users Manage and allocate resources at the affiliate level in conjunction with AMHS and Campus System Goals.
