A postdoctoral fellow position is available in Dr. Michael Robek’s laboratory in the Department of Immunology and Microbial Disease at Albany Medical College. We are looking for an individual with a passion for science and discovery to lead an independent project related to the lab’s research on viral immunology. We are an interactive group with a team-oriented goal to contribute high-quality research to the fields of immunology and virology.
Job Duties
• Design, conduct, and troubleshoot hypothesis-testing experiments
• Select and determine appropriate research procedures
• Collect, compile, and analyze data
• Conduct literature searches and summarize information
• Document and interpret experimental results
• Prepare figures to depict findings, write papers, and present at scientific meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, or a related area
Knowledge of virology and immunology
Competence in standard experimental techniques such as qPCR, flow cytometry, imaging, etc.
Highly self-motivated with outstanding experimental skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with in vivo model systems is preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate
Demonstrated writing and presentation skills
