Salary Range: Min. $26.37/hr - Max $42.19/hr
The Histologist V performs all technical procedures within the laboratory and provides technical expertise for one specialized area. This position requires expertise in the technical procedures used to prepare specimens for histopathological examination and in the quality and regulatory standards governing the laboratory. It also requires the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility. The technologist works under the supervision of the technical specialist or supervisory staff. Other responsibilities include the training of students and new personnel, problem-solving technical issues, and the evaluation of new or modified procedures or methods. Reports to the Surgical Pathology Laboratory Supervisor.
Must meet New York State Education Department requirements for Clinical laboratory technologist, Clinical Laboratory Technician or Certified Histologic Technician and hold a NYSED license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Technician or Certified Histologic Technician.
