The Research Foundation for SUNY Corporate Insurance Risk Specialist in Albany, New York

FUNCTION & SCOPE:

A professional with strong analytical skills to work in the Office of Compliance Services and support the Research Foundation's corporate insurance program. The incumbent will interact with all levels of the Research Foundation and SUNY constituents, and report to the Deputy Compliance Officer. With a focus on corporate insurance and risk management, the individual will be responsible for assisting with the RF's corporate insurance program; providing excellent customer service to our campuses related to insurance, working effectively with the RF's insurance broker, assessing and analyzing compliance risks and trends related to insurance.

Insurance and Risk Assessment Activities:

  • Processes requests for Certificates of Insurance Responds timely to campus requests related to certificates of insurance.

  • Completes the annual insurance applications.

  • Process insurance claims by working with campuses, RF's insurance broker, and underwriters.

  • Ensures the timely payment of insurance premiums by working with the RF's broker and finance department.

  • Prepares and processes insurance payment allocations.

  • Assists with the assessment of risk and provide recommendations on how insurance can mitigate risk to an acceptable risk tolerance level.

  • Facilitates the presentation of insurance metrics.

  • Stays current on key insurance requirements.

  • Provides training and technical support to management and employees on corporate insurance.

  • Monitors major and critical insurance risks & manages the process for elevating insurance issues to more senior levels when appropriate.

  • Interact with campuses and central office to respond.

  • Serve as a liaison between the RF Central Office and our Insurance Broker and Underwriters as needed.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and submits DMV documents for RF's fleet of vehicles, trailers, boats, and drones and ensures that they are properly insured.

  • Prepares reports for upon request. for Perform other duties as assigned in support of the implementation of the Research Foundation's Compliance Program.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented, but able to quickly understand the larger or strategic picture.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Compensation for this position: The compensation for this role is between $55,000 to $61,702. The pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, and certifications.
