The Clinical System Informatics Manager provides leadership and management of campus clinical informatics department in collaboration with the Albany Med Health System informatics program. Collaborative development, education implementation and evaluation of clinical information systems.
Salary Range: 100,528.00 - 165,872.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ + Provide campus leadership in developing and managing a unified system informatics program that is supported enterprise-wide.
Understand the impact of regulatory changes and communicate the impact of those changes on the informatics program.
Collaborates with nursing, providers and organizational leaders in planning and implementing program expansion and growth, including new business ventures, construction, and projects.
Ensures a competent, technology-enabled workforce in collaboration with the IT and Education Services teams.
Nursing Quality
Incorporate nursing research and evidence-based nursing knowledge into nursing informatics practice.
Develops and maintains standards of care that inform evidence-based practice, quality of care, patient safety and clinician workflow in collaboration with nursing leadership.
Act as a change agent in the identification, development, planning, implementation, and value measurement of informatics strategies to support quality patient care and professional practice.
Supports nursing and provider leadership by developing system informatics-driven policies and procedures.Ensures nursing practices and corresponding policies and procedures related to health IT follow appropriate Practice Acts, accreditation requirements and other applicable regulations and standards.
Operational
Ensure that informatics principles adopted are used to inform and monitor proposed service redesigns so that they are effective in improving clinical practice and patient outcomes.
Ensure that the structures are in place to monitor effective and valid information flows within systems used to deliver care and manage the business.
Promote the advancement of clinical and business intelligence systems capable of reporting information needed to improve patient outcomes, support research, and improve operations across the continuum of care.
Work with clinical and IT leaders in evaluating the effectiveness of technologies and workflows that impact clinical users.
Manage and allocate resources at the affiliate lever in conjunction with System and Hospital Goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in health, business, or informatics field - required
4-6 years Direct patient care in a clinical setting - required
4-6 years Customer Service Experience - required
1-3 years EMR/informatics - preferred
1-3 years Direct management of people and teams - preferred
Experienced in the use of electronic medical record documentation software including design, build, testing, production and evaluation cycles.
Ability to analyze and determine how technical functionality can be applied in the clinical setting.
Understands limitations of technology and ensures rational application of appropriate solutions to identified issues, whether technical, workflow, or policy-based.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present information to varied audiences, including hospital administrators, physicians and board members.
Possesses strong organizational and project management skills, and attention to detail
