The RIA Senior Consultant is responsible for driving sales of OppenheimerFunds (“the Company”) products and services through the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) channel. An integral part of our Distribution organization, the Senior Consultant serves as the face of OppenheimerFunds to our clients, building relationships that have a direct impact on the Company’s growth.
Identify opportunities to develop and execute consultative sales strategies that will maximize market penetration and increase customer loyalty with RIAs in the region
Employ thoughtful and consistent segmentation strategy to ensure partnership with top tier RIAs
Develop and deepen partnership opportunities with RIAs to generate revenue and meet sales goals
Partner with RIA Channel Head, Strategic Accounts, and Marketing to ensure alignment around business strategy, capitalize on opportunities and overcome specific challenges
Collaborate with Advisor Consultant and Internal Advisor Consultant to employ a team-oriented approach and a thoughtful and consistent RIA segmentation strategy
Build relationships with key RIA firms within the region through face-to-face meetings, portfolio manager conference calls and other high touch personal communication
Act as both a resource and consultant to RIA clients by sharing subject matter expertise and providing on-going high impact market intelligence
Ensure collaboration across the organization, maximizing synergies within other channels of Distribution
Represent OppenheimerFunds at National and Regional industry conferences
Manage expense budget, and handle other administrative functions effectively
Minimum of 8 years of successful asset management sales experience, deep relationships in the RIA Channel, and a demonstrated track record in the Mutual Fund and/or ETF industry
Superior knowledge of the asset management industry, and the competitive landscape
In-depth understanding of Capital Markets and the impact of economic factors
Knowledge of investment planning topics including Asset Allocation, Retirement, Tax & Estate Planning
Strong quantitative skills with a proven ability to analyze data, and incorporate findings into a Business Plan
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, build strong relationships and execute
Excellent listening skills with a natural inclination to focus on customer needs
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Undergraduate degree required, with a strong record of academic achievement; MBA preferred
Series 7 & 63 required; industry designations such as CFA, CFP, CIMA, etc. a plus
Must be domiciled within, or willing to relocate to the “Mountain West” territory, with Denver or Seattle preferred
