What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Technology, Financial Crimes & enterprise Risk Technology division. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, building easy, flexible, and personalized banking solutions to enhance client experience and change the way that people bank. As a Senior Manager you will be joining the Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering Technology group working in the Global Screening Solutions team where you will be responsible for providing managerial oversight of our team's activities to deliver on various functional and base support initiatives, enhance efficiency and ensure project success. In addition, the role manages the application delivery, developing and implementing new functions and services in respective functional areas. You’ll work closely with your team to ensure appropriate delivery of support services, and ensure adherence to standards and operating procedures. You will also manage resource allocation and associated billing to various projects and initiatives.

How You'll Succeed

  • Mentorship & Leadership – Lead and coach a high performing group team of individuals. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their contributions and professional growth. Share knowledge and collaborate to come up with effective solutions to problems.

  • Strategic Development & Execution - Oversee the development and operations of the applications. Define and manage resource requirements and allocations, monitor and improve quality, and ensure 'best practice' development techniques. Have a continuous improvement mindset proactively Identify improvements, proactively monitoring of production problems and suggest appropriate improvements for resolution, summarizing critical incidents for submission to senior management. Make solution recommendations regarding the ongoing viability of a project plan based on ability to deliver upon agreed functionality within approved budget and schedule for small, medium and large complex projects.

  • Relationship Management - Manage relationships with multiple delivery areas, technology and business partners; interface and maintain communications, monitor business and technology developments and provide on-time response and support. Proactively manage relationships with partner LOBs, vendor systems and offshore relationships for project resources to ensure effective utilization.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking - Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems. You will be a ‘lean’ thinker with an awareness of both waterfall and agile project delivery methodologies.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in meeting the Application Development and Support needs of various business units as a Senior Manager for 3+ years, effectively managing changes in a Linux production environment and assessing technical information to develop solutions that will improve process effectiveness and efficiency. It is an advantage if you have experience within an Agile and Waterfall environments.

  • Technical Expertise – Strong Technical skills and familiar with: Web-based applications. Infomatica 10, SQOOP, Oracle PL/SQL, UNIX scripting, application programming such as Java, and Javascript., REST and SOAP API. Working with, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Oracle Database and JBOSS, Schedulers-Autosys, File Transfer-Feedhub, MFTS, SFTP and source control tool GITHUB etc.

  • It’s an asset if : Having Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) experience and understanding of real time and batch architectures.

  • Nice to have: Familiar with Anti-Money Laundering Sanction Screening.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field.

  • You can be clearly understood. You have very strong communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely present information to groups and individuals at all levels in the organization.
