The Senior Director Global Security guides the successful oversite of facility, laboratory and business functions at multi‐use sites through regular interaction with senior management and members of the executive team as well as senior‐level external contacts. The incumbent in this role, accomplishes results through mid and high‐level management team members to drive long‐range goals and influence long‐term direction. The individual sets objectives for and manages multiple programs, sites and ongoing work activities of high complexity to ensure on time and within budget completion. Manages departmental or project budget and has authority to make, allocate company resources as needed. Provides guidance to staff by establishing operational goals and objectives for a function at a significant geographic business unit. The incumbent develops functional policies that impact the overall direction or success of the company.
Oversees all site Facilities Security operations and services to ensure employee security, business continuity, at multiple locations within the defined Celgene portfolio. Responsible to develop and implement long term strategies that continuously is reviewing and for monitoring Celgene’s Global footprint to assure the proper diligence and risk management is in place.
•Oversees all site security full time staff and outsourced staff functions associated with the defined portfolio
•Develops 3-5 year business plans for the entire Celgene Facility Security organization
•Develops and implements programs and direction for Senior level security policy and guidelines
•Develops policies and programs for Facility Security approach and implementation
•Defines and meets with Senior and executive level management to assure policies and guidelines are acceptable and in line with Corporate Strategy
•Assures the development of and implementation of new facility security strategy is in alignment with legal, compliance departments level of risk and due diligence
•In partnership with Business Management and Service Owners, drive consistent and measurable risk identification and management process for decision making by senior leadership
•Develops long term Security system plan, that services entire portfolio, assures no single point of failure
•Responsible for all security systems, and hardware
•Maintaining relationships with customers and key stakeholders to promote risk-aware decision making during pursuit of business objectives.
• Responsible for all HR related support such as employee terminations, investigations, interviews
•Provide leadership to our Global Operations Center team who manages the company’s oversight of and response to incidents involving all company assets and operations 24/7
•Providing feedback to operations, engineering and risk & compliance teams as required
•Stays current on all new and emerging security technology
•Championing continuous improvement within the organization by identifying and overseeing enhancements to programs and processes
•Develop programs, author polices and SOP’s that will support and be complaint in a GMP environment.
•Work with QA and other groups in a GMP environment

•Makes regular site visits meeting with local management identifying operational needs and developing plans to assist achievement of their goals.
•Manages, all employee performance / development goals; completes required employee assessments and provides corrective feedback when necessary
•Evaluates current and future staffing needs and is directly involved in the identification and hiring of staff.
•Oversees all internal and external contractor staff.
Initiates, manages and leads cross‐functional/cross‐site projects of medium to large scope and complexity.
•Supports research programs by constructing, altering, modifying or maintaining facilities security systems to serve site requirements and prepares for future needs
•Evaluates and selects consulting firms that meet company standards and reviews and approves bids working through the procurement group.
•Serves as the facility Security SME for North America, European, and Asia Pac facilities that do not have facility support within their organization. Provide BCP guidance, Honeywell system installation and support.
•Guides and approves the implementation of major changes to critical / ancillary systems,
•Provides strategic guidance for engineering and Space Planning as it relates to the Facility security systems and approaches
•Provides strategic direction and guidance as Facilities security site representative during interactions with all cross functional groups, as required
•Interfaces with Corporate Services, EHS and IT in support of projects and cross functional initiatives.
Monitors business process and administrative task oversight for contract and budgetary management, procurement system, and documentation.
•Drives and ensures Facilities Security operating budget within target goals and drives the forecasting of project, capital and expense budgets. Prepares quarterly budget updates.
•Monitors contract management including scope of work, cost assessment, and documentation.
•Consults with Legal and Strategic Sourcing to ensure corporate and vendor contract terms are met•
•Oversees monthly metric reports and monitors and evaluates department operational targets. Endorses action plans as required
Promotes and provides excellent customer service and support.
•Monitors prompt response to work orders and service requests while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
•Provides strategic technical support and guidance on facilities security‐related issues and advises senior management on courses of action, as required. Interfaces with customers to ensure all expectations are being met
•Presents quarterly reports and presentations to first line and senior management.
•Maintains a positive relationship with all the members of the Facilities Security department and our site customers while promoting a positive team environment.
Promotes and maintains compliance with corporate, safety, security and regulatory policies.
•Ensures compliance with all state, local and company policies, rules and regulations relating to safety, security and environmental protection. Updates and maintains all current programs, modifying standards to accommodate different State regulations.
•Champions adherence to and improvement of all safety procedures and hazard communication
•Oversees maintenance of facilities business continuity and crisis management documents and notification
systems to ensure current and accurate information
•Represents Facilities Security in all FDA/Regulatory inspections. Maintains compliance records according to company standards. Oversees facilities Security files including drawings, permits, certificates and maintenance records to ensure compliance
•Ensures compliance with corporate and site security access and control policies
•Provides oversight with all training requirements to ensure compliance including review and approval of staff training curriculums
Travel - domestic and international - up to 30%
Required Competencies‐Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Experience in Security with a focus on security tool technology, security management and policy enforcement; previous management experience in managing a global SOC
•Security access control/camera systems, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
•Prior experience defining requirements, establishing new programs, drafting and authoring and maintaining polices SOP’s.
•Expert at departmental capital and expense budget forecasting and management
•Ability to read, interpret and update engineering drawings relevant to the trade
•Strong written and verbal communication skills along with exceptional leadership skills that encourages empowerment and ownership within the team and organization. Adept at writing well‐formulated emails, notifications and reports. Ability to effectively communicate with employees, contractors and vendors. Highly experienced with technical writing and document development / generation.
•Exceptional interpersonal skills with experience dealing with a diverse workforce
•Maintains a high level of multi‐tasking ability in conjunction with proven organizational skills. Ability to organize assigned tasks in a high paced environment and concurrently monitor tasks / assignments with others that may impact timely completion. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and activities simultaneously.
•Highly proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the ability to learn new software, such as enterprise business, building management, security, and
maintenance management systems.

Education & Experience:
•Bachelors degree in Criminal Studies, Computer Science, Information Technology or related area of study.
•Minimum 10 years’ experience in developing, managing a Global Security platform
•4 years of experience in a GXP facilities / lab operations environment preferred
