A H Harris & Sons Inc Sales Associate, Counter Sales in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

A.H. Harris promoted again, leaving an immediate need for a full-time Inside Sales & Customer Service Representative at the counter of its busy distribution center in Portsmouth New Hampshire. A.H. Harris provides the highest quality construction materials with a special focus on forming, sitework, concrete repair and concrete restoration. You'll serve not only as a sales and customer service representative but as a product expert, problem-solver, innovator and true partner to our business customers in the heavy and highway, commercial, industrial and residential markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the branch by processing sales orders for and servicing all walk-in customers with inside sales team (3).

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all inbound calls to respective branch.

  • Help ensure customers deliver the best solutions to their projects by providing product related expertise, building relationships with vendors, attending product demos, etc.

  • Assist outside sales team by entering customer orders, helping to prepare price quotes, etc.

  • Assist warehouse team by recording incoming shipments, processing warehouse transfers and assisting with inventory cycle counts.

  • Maintain displays and stock of smaller accessory items in front counter such as hammers, hard hats and cleaners.

  • Position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm shift (1-hour lunch) and reports directly to Branch Manager.

Requirements:

  • 1-3+ years customer service or sales experience, preferably in a customers-like-family environment.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent shifting between the sales counter, phone and email.

  • Strong teamwork synergy and customer service mindset are musts.

  • HS Diploma and computer aptitude required.

  • Familiarity with contractor market and/or building product materials a plus.
