Product Evangelist / Technical Product Marketing

Are you a high performing product marketer working on some of the most important projects in your organization? Do you have experience building technical documentation for technology projects from scratch? Are you an organized and strategic storyteller who enjoys collaboration? You could be a perfect match for the Technical Product Marketing role in Capital One's Data Technology organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for nurturing and integrating with ongoing projects in the data analysis, scientist, and engineering community centered around production systems. You will work closely with Capital One's internal practice leaders, data analysts and scientists, and other internal product owners to bring compelling and easy to read documentation to the rest of the organization. The primary function of this role is information democratization internally and eventually externally. You will use your technical expertise to construct easy to read documentation and websites which highlight project deployments and advancements.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience building interactive media for services like API layers and system design documentation. In addition, the candidate will have experience helping the design content with an eye on the overarching goal of the role. The candidate will also have demonstrated a track record of using technology and platforms in a creative way to publish and reach audiences across multiple channels.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Confluence, GitHub, and other collaboration/documentation tools.
What you will do in the role:
Creating and executing the strategy for the Data Product central hub
Develop deep understanding of data product users and their needs and apply those needs to our marketing strategy
Planning and managing editorial and content calendars
Writing, editing, and submitting blog posts, newsletters, press releases, etc. to various organizations.
Working with our product and communication teams to implement and refine distribution strategies
Documenting various data engineering projects and producing internal facing project pages
Developing and refining content standards and governance (e.g., writing style guides, tone, etc.)
Driving the requirements for necessary documentation on projects and events in the data product ecosystem.
Ghostwrite for prominent members in the Capital One community.
Bachelors Degree or Military Experience.
At least 1 year of technical or scientific writing experience.
At least 1 year of project management experience.
At least 3 years of experience with technology projects.
At least 3 years of product marketing, product management, or brand management experience for a technology company.
At least 1 year working with various database technologies
At least 5 years of product marketing, product management, or brand management experience for a technology company
At least 5 years of professional publication experience including leadership positions.
Multiple writing or journalism awards.
