Bell Sr Advisor, Wireless Network Strategy in Mississauga, Ontario

Summary

We seek an exceptional and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Advisor, Wireless Network Strategy. In this role, you will have the privilege of immersing yourself in the intricate world of emerging wireless technologies through active participation in various initiatives. You will contribute to standards development, conduct meticulous research, engage in industry forums, foster collaborative vendor partnerships, and participate in hands-on trial activities. The knowledge gained from these diverse engagements will prove instrumental in developing a comprehensive strategic plan to be executed by our technology development teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Advisor, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that directly influence the evolution of Bell Mobility's wireless networks. Your key tasks will include:

  • Developing long-term wireless technology roadmaps and spectrum plans.

  • Modeling the impact of introducing new technologies, considering factors such as spectral efficiency, cost savings, capacity gains, and performance improvements.

  • Establishing dimensioning assumptions that serve as input for network cost modeling and proof-of-concept trials.

  • Recommending modifications to network planning tools to optimize budget planning.

  • Producing detailed guidance and technical documentation for wireless technology development.

  • Providing technical leadership and support during regulatory consultations.

Critical Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in wireless telecommunications, demonstrating your deep understanding of the industry.

  • A university degree in Electrical or Systems Design Engineering, reflecting your strong academic foundation.

  • Proven ability to make strategic recommendations on technology evolution, showcasing your thought leadership.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of LTE and 5G radio systems, including modulation schemes, MIMO techniques, carrier aggregation, NR protocols, QoS, and e2e network slicing.

  • Experience in the global and/or Canadian industry, with involvement in 3GPP and ORAN being highly advantageous.

  • A holistic understanding of radio, IP, transport, core, and cloud domains within the network architecture.

  • Familiarity with current and future end-to-end wireless network architectures and service enablers.

  • Exceptional technical leadership, time management, and teamwork skills.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation abilities, allowing you to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Proven expertise in influencing cross-functional stakeholders and fostering collaboration to achieve organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in engineering, demonstrating your advanced academic achievements.

  • Proficiency in MATLAB, simulation, and modeling techniques.

  • Knowledge of virtualized RAN technologies such as ORAN, RIC xAPP, rAPP, and Cloud RAN.

  • Sound understanding of financial accounting principles.

  • Practical experience with MicroStrategy, PlanBook, and NRM.

  • Familiarity with GIS tools like MapInfo and QGIS.
