HACCP Coordinator - Nights
Location:Poultry Plant - Mayfield, KY
POSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for maintaining and revising food safety programs at the plant. This position will research USDA regulations and ensure the plant is in compliance by means of communication, training and monitoring.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviewing daily paperwork for accuracy and completeness and follow up as needed.
Reporting FSIS Noncompliance weekly.
Performing HACCP/SSOP training for hourly and salaried employees yearly or as needed.
Presenting HACCP/SSOP information to customers and USDA as needed.
Updating HACCP/SSOP programs at least annually.
Assisting plant personnel when food safety and sanitation issues arise.
Evaluating paperwork and information for developing trends.
Meeting with USDA at least weekly.
Benchmarking with other plants as needed.
Reviewing sanitation program as needed, including pre-operational sanitation.
Writing policies and procedures as needed.
BASIC SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
3 years HACCP and/or Quality Assurance experience in a Poultry environment preferred.
Working knowledge of HACCP and SSOP, USDA regulations and GMP requirements.
Ability to write policies and procedures.
Ability to train others.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have good computer skills-minimum working with spreadsheets and Word documents. SAP experience preferred.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Food Science, Poultry Science preferred; or related experience.
